TRUCK DRIVER DIES IN BOX TRUCK COLLISION WITH A DUMP TRUCK IN NORTH PHOENIX, AZ

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2015

NORTH PHOENIX, ARIZONA

The driver of a produce box truck has died after colliding with a dump truck pulling a trailer.

It happened shortly after 7 a.m. Friday at 19th Ave. and Pinnacle Peak Rd. near Deer Valley airport, according to Phoenix police.

Investigators say the box truck hit the dump truck's trailer that normally hauls gravel.  That trailer was so heavy it barely had damage.

One of the trucks ran a red light, however it's unclear which one went through the light, police said.

The driver of the dump truck was not hurt.

Traffic incident investigators are trying to determine who is at fault.
