PEDESTRIAN HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT IN MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN.  VICTIM WAS ALSO HIT BY A SECOND VEHICLE AND SUFFERED LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday night after being hit by two vehicles in Muskegon.

Not long after 11 p.m., Muskegon Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Apple Avenue and Stevens Street. There, they found a 28-year-old Muskegon man lying in the road with serious injuries.

Police say the man was first struck by a vehicle that left the scene. After he was knocked to the ground, he was hit by a second vehicle. The second driver stopped and called police.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition Sunday, according to a release from police.

Police are looking for an older-model Chevrolet pickup truck or SUV, possibly from the 1990s. They say the driver of that vehicle may have “pertinent information” about the hit-and-run crash.

Anyone with information about the vehicle, its driver or the crash is asked to call the Muskegon Police Department at 231.724.6750 or Silent Observer at 231.722.7463.
