NTSB: UNTIMELY FUEL TRANSFER BY THE PILOT LIKELY CAUSED FATAL 2013 PLANE CRASH NEAR PARKERS PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA

FEBRUARY 16, 2015
PARKERS PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA

The National Transportation Safety Board has determined the probable cause of a fatal plane crash near Parkers Prairie.

In February 2013, 41-year-old Adam Menze of Ottertail was on his way back from Illinois when his plane crashed in a rural driveway. Menze died in the crash.

According to the report, the crash was likely caused by the pilot not transferring fuel from the auxiliary to the main tanks in a timely manner, starving the engine of fuel.

Menze was flying a small, single-engine propeller plane.
