FIRE CLAIMS LIFE OF WARREN COUNTY, ILLINOIS 9-YEAR OLD GIRL

CAMERON, Ill. – Tragedy struck a family overnight in rural Warren County.



The Sheriff says a fire claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl in the 1400 block of 190th Ave., just outside Cameron.




Around 11:15 on Tuesday night, February 3, 2015, firefighters were called to the rural Cameron home that was engulfed in flames.




The sheriff tells us two children and one adult escaped the fire uninjured.



One child was still inside and was brought out by firefighters.




She was declared dead at the scene.




Warren Central Fire units from Cameron and Kirkwood were assisted at the scene by fire units from Abingdon, Alexis and Roseville.




They were still on scene early Wednesday morning.




The names of the victim and family have not been released at this point.



An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.




The incident is under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Technicians, the Warren County Coroner and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
