EXTREME COLD IS CAUSING WATER MAIN ISSUES AROUND THE STATE. PIPES ARE BURSTING AND ICE DAMS ARE EVERYWHERE

FEBRUARY 17, 2015

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT (WTNH)

Extreme cold is causing water main issues around the state.

In Hartford, a pipe on Washington Street burst sometime after 7 p.m. Monday. Crews spent the night on the scene shutting down the main and working to fix the problem. The entire process took between six and eight hours.

It caused four housing complexes and a pair of businesses on Washington Street between Vernon Street and Madison Avenue to be without water for hours.

Water was restored in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
