FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - An alleged drunk driver crashed into a utility bucket truck overnight, sending a worker to the hospital with serious injuries.
A Honda driving north on Dixie Highway near Glenrose slammed into the truck, which was subcontracted to Time Warner Cable, around 12:30 a.m.

One utility worker was in the bucket stringing wires across the highway while another stood on the ground, according to officials.

The ground worker was pinned under the truck and flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is in critical condition, police say. The victim's name has not been released.

The female driver of the Honda, identified by Florence police as Brenda J. Amerson, was treated for minor injuries before being arrested. Amerson is housed at the Boone County Detention Center under a first degree aggravated DUI charge.

Officials say Amerson could face additional charges pending an investigation.

Dixie Highway was shut down for several hours while for clean-up and an investigation. It has since reopened.
