COLLAPSED MASONRY CRASHES TO DEATH CONSTRUCTION WORKER IN MADISON, MINNESOTA SITE

MADISON, MINNESOTA (WKOW) 

The Dane County Medical Examiner confirms there was a death after a construction accident in Madison Friday morning.

One worker was taken to UW Hospital after a construction accident in Madison Friday morning.

Madison Fire officials say the worker was hurt when masonry at the site collapsed, and officials indicated to 27 News the injuries were serious.  The Dane County Communications Center confirmed to 27 News the medical examiner had been notified of the incident.

The site was 950 John Nolen Drive, which is the location of Watermark Lofts. Madison Fire says co-workers had freed the injured person from the collapsed masonry before emergency crews arrived and the paramedics took him from the scene within minutes.

Watermark Lofts is a mixed-use property scheduled to open this summer.
