ROCK FALLS, Iowa – A barn is a total loss after a fire Thursday evening.

According to a statement from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, firefighters responded to a call of a fire at 21738 Fallspark Drive in Rock Falls at 10:16 p.m.  Deputies and firefighters with the Plymouth and Nora Springs fire departments responded to find the barn fully engulfed.

Upon investigation, the owner, Tyler Behne, told authorities he tried to intentionally burn the barn down on Wednesday. Officials on the scene say he was not home when the fire ignited.

Crews were on scene for about an hour before deciding to let the fire burn itself out.

No property was inside the building and no injuries are reported.

Darn it, Mr. Behne for burning the darn barn.
