Carrollton police say a worker was unconscious after a water pipe burst at a construction site Thursday morning. (Feb. 12, 2015)

Carrollton police said a construction worker was injured when a pressurized pipe burst Thursday morning.

Carrollton Police Department spokeswoman Jolene Devito said the worker was unconscious after the incident at a construction site in the 1400 block of East Trinity Mills Road.

Officials said two workers were pressure checking a pipe when something shot out of it and hit one of the workers in the head.

The worker was taken to Medical Center of Plano. His condition was not reported, but officials said his injuries sound serious.
