A SEMI TRUCK WITH A TRAILER FAILS TO STOP AND INTERSECTION AND CRUSHES ONTO A TREE, KILLING THE DRIVER IN NEBRASKA IN A FIERY CRASH

I-80 AND ALDA ROAD, NEBRASKA

The Hall County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle fire on Alda Rd South of Interstate 80 that was the result of a traffic accident. 

As a result of the accident there was one fatality. The deceased person's name will not be released at this time pending identification and notification of relatives. 

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a semi and trailer east bound on the I-80 eastbound exit ramp at the Alda interchange failed to stop at the intersection of Alda Rd, crossing the roadway and striking a tree on the South side of Alda Rd. The vehicle caught fire and was fully engulfed. 

Other agencies responding to this accident included the Nebraska State Patrol, the Wood River Rural Fire Department and Doniphan Fire Department.
