A MAN PLEADED GUILTY THIS WEEK TO TWO COUNTS OF FELONY SERIOUS INJURY BY MOTOR VEHICLE FOR AN ACCIDENT THAT INJURED TWO WOMEN. HE WAS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL.

A man pleaded guilty this week to two counts of felony serious injury by motor vehicle for an accident that happened in 2013 in Pender County.

The District Attorney's Office says back on August 10, 2013, 52-year-old Raymond Heuring was traveling on Highway 53 when he collided with another vehicle. Four women were in the other vehicle, two of whom sustained serious injuries to their heads and bodies.

Members of the State Highway Patrol administered blood tests on Heuring after the crash, the results later revealed a .25 blood alochol concentration. That's over three times the legal limit.

Heuring received two consecutive 17-30 months suspended sentences and 36 months supervised probation with a special condition that he serves an active term of 15 months in the Department of Adult Correction.

Heuring was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and $1,557 in court costs.
