TRUCK DRIVER DIES IN TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN EL PASO, TEXAS. SEMI-TRUCK MAKES A MANEUVER TO AVOID SPEEDING CAR AND OVERTURNS, KILLING THE TRUCK DRIVER.



Truck driver dies in two vehicle accident in El Paso, Texas.  Semi-truck makes a maneuver to avoid speeding car and overturns, killing the truck driver.


EL PASO, Texas – A semitruck driver lost his life in a two-vehicle accident on the far east side of El Paso Saturday around 10 p.m.

Special Traffic Investigators say a Honda Civic was traveling over the speed limit on the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Eastlake Boulevard.

The driver lost control of the car, hit the rail and bounced back to the roadway—where an 18-wheeler was traveling with two people inside.

In the attempt to avoid the car, the truck driver lost control of the wheel. Both vehicles collided, creating jackknife accident.

The truck driver was transported to a local hospital, where he lost his life due to injuries from the accident. A passenger who was with the truck driver was also taken to the hospital and was released Saturday.

There are no injuries reported for the driver of the Honda Civic, according to Chris Acosta, El Paso Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Charges against the driver are still pending.
