SEMI TRUCK AND 4-CAR ACCIDENT CLOSES COLO. 52 IN BOULDER COUNTY, COLORADO.  ONE CAR WAS TRAPPED UNDER THE SEMI.

Boulder County, Colorado:

An accident involving four cars and a semi truck has closed down Colo. 52 between U.S. 287 and 95th Street in Boulder County, according to officials.

The crash was first reported at 8:13 a.m. today on Colo. 52 near U.S. 287, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid.

One vehicle -- a Honda -- was trapped beneath the semi, while two other vehicles needed to be towed from the scene, according to police radio traffic.

Officials on scene said there were no fatalities. Reid said the driver of the Honda was transported to Longmont United Hospital with possibly serious injuries while two other people from a different car were taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette with minor injuries.

The intersection of U.S. 287 and Colo 52 is shut down in all directions, and Colo. 52 is closed eastbound from 95th Street.

No information on the cause of the wreck was available yet.
