OVERTURNED TRACTOR-TRAILER SNARLS TRAFFIC ON ROUTES 1&9 IN ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY








ELIZABETH — City police and fire departments, along with the Union County hazmat team, responded Tuesday morning to an overturned tractor-trailer on Routes 1&9 South.

A tow company was on scene around 9 a.m., though the tractor trailer was still on its side as of around 11 a.m., as members of the Hazmat team appeared to be containing its fuel.
The accident occurred near the North Avenue exit off of Routes 1&9 and affected traffic in both the express and local lanes.
Details on the accident were not immediately available from the police department.
