WATERLOO (KWWL) - One person is in the hospital after a house fire this morning in Waterloo.
The fire happened in the 600 block of W. 11th St. in Waterloo. The resident of the home was outside when the fire started, but was still transported to the hospital for burns.

Crews got the call a little before 6 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, fire fighters say flames were coming from the second story of the home with most of the damage to the back side of the house.

Greg Nobles lives two houses down and woke up to fire trucks on his street. He says he was concerned the flames were going to hit his house.

"First I seen a whole bunch of smoke. Then after the smoke I kind of got up and went outside and it was just huge flames out there. I mean almost touching the neighbor’s house," said Nobles.
The fire is still under investigation
