ONE DEAD AFTER VEHICLE COLLIDES WITH 18-WHEELER IN BERKELEY COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified a man who was killed after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler Monday evening. 

Deputy Coroner Kirstin Mazzell said 44-year-old John Mitchell Jr., of Summerville, was driving his Ford-350 truck along Cainhoy Road in Berkeley County when he collided with the 18-wheeler traveling in the opposite direction. 

Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene and his death was ruled accidental. Mazzell said Mitchel was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The accident will continue to be investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
