MASON CITY, Iowa – A man found clinging to life after trying to walk home in a blizzard remains in critical condition Sunday evening, according to a spokesperson for Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa.

Hancock County authorities say James and Lilah Hobbs, of rural Woden, were driving during Thursday’s blizzard when their truck became stuck in the snow.

They got out to walk and were overcome by the cold and wind.  Lilah’s body was found on 330th Street west of Grant Avenue.

James was found about 150 yards from the road by rescuers using a thermal imager.  He was in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital.
