January 10th, 2015

GREENFIELD (WGGB) – Fire departments from several communities responded to a hotel fire at the Quality Inn on Mohawk Trail in Greenfield early Saturday.

The call came in just after 4 o’clock Saturday morning. Crews encountered heavy smoke on the first floor of the hotel when they arrived, but the fire was quickly knocked down. It was contained to a single room on the first floor, but due to the smoke, all guests and staff had to evacuate the building while firefighters worked to clear the air.

Things are all clear this morning, and no injuries have been reported as a result of that fire. The cause is still under investigation.
