FREON LEAK AT WHEATON PLAZA IN MARYLAND DUE TO A RUPTURED FREON TANK








WHEATON, MD. (WUSA 9) -- Authorities responded to a Freon leak at Wheaton Plaza on Monday afternoon, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer.




The leak was caused by a ruptured Freon tank near H&R Block and Ruby Tuesday.




Piringer said the leak has been controlled and that the hazmat team is monitoring the situation. He Tweeted that H&R Block, Ruby Tuesday and Hollywood East Asia were evacuated, that no sickness or injuries have been reported and the health department has been notified.
