FATAL CRASH CLOSES HWY. 12 WEST OF PENNOCK, MN



FATAL CRASH NEAR WILLMAR, MN WHEN A  CADILLAC AND A SEMI-TRUCK COLLIDE.



Driver identified in fatal Hwy. 12 crash near Willmar, MN

The driver killed in a head-on crash Friday between a car and a semi truck on Hwy. 12 near Willmar was a 34-year-old Graceville, Minn., man, according to the State Patrol.
The deadly crash happened shortly before 7 a.m., and the highway was closed to traffic in both directions until after noon.

The accident happened on Hwy. 12 at 120th St. NW., just west of the town of Pennock, which is about 7 miles west of Willmar.

The patrol said two people were injured but did not say whether one or both of them were killed.

The patrol said a Cadillac DeVille was eastbound on Hwy.12 when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with semi Shawn Murphy, the driver who was killed, was behind the wheel of the Cadillac.

The semi driver, 48-year-old Ronald Bloomquist of Kandiyohi, Minn., was seriously hurt. According to the patrol, he was taken to Rice Hospital in Willmar.
