(ENFIELD, CT)–WGGB–
An Enfield neighborhood is on edge following another suspicious fire.

It’s the fourth fire in the same Elm Street neighborhood since last month.

Neighbors like William Zanks are concerned,”It’s kind of scary,” says Zanks.

Zanks lives a couple of houses away from where the latest fire occurred early this morning at 376 Elm Street.

The overnight fire is the latest one in a series of recent suspicious blazes.

One destroyed a barn across the street two others damaged vacant houses nearby.

Neighbors up and down the street are nervous,”It’s getting scary, because they’re all around where I live , i just moved here 4 , 5 months ago renting a room, it’s getting really really scary,” says Brian Bell.

As a result of the series of suspicious fires, neighbors are extra vigilant about what’s happening on Elm street,”I put of security lights around the garage and everything else and I keep a pretty close eye on whats going on,” says William Zanks.

Others are practicing the same vigilance as well, “I keep the lights on now , doors locked , it’s a sinful world we’re living in,” says Donald Niemann.

Neighbors trying to look out for each other and for themselves ,”I just watch my back, that’s all I can do and I’m just being careful,” says Brian Bell.

As authorities look for those who are responsible for setting these fires, a 25-hundred dollar reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.

If you have any information you’re asked to call the Enfield Fire Department, Police Department or the Connecticut Arson Tip Line at 1-800-84-ARSON.
