MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

An 18-wheeler hit the side of an overpass, spilled its load, and caused a mess on southbound Interstate 240 that impacted the morning commute.

The right lane of southbound I-240 at Norris Road was blocked for several hours while crews cleaned up debris. The accident happened early Thursday morning.

The truck was carrying two trailers of what looked like some kind of fabric.

Police say the driver hit a light pole, a guard rail and scraped the overpass.

The driver was not injured.
All lanes of traffic in that area opened up around 6:20 a.m. Thursday.
