DO NOT DRINK & DRIVE: COLORADO STATE PATROL: DUI SUSPECTED IN U.S. 36 WRONG WAY CRASH NEAR DENVER.  A 35-YEAR-OLD MAN DRIVING A PICKUP TRUCK WAS TRAVELING THE WRONG WAY WHEN HE SLAMMED HEAD-ON INTO A FORD ESCAPE.




The Colorado State Patrol believes alcohol could be involved in a two-vehicle wrong way crash on U.S. 36 in Denver on Thursday morning that left two people injured, one of them moderately.


The crash happened about 5 a.m. near where the highway meets Broadway, the patrol said. The wreck closed several lanes in the area as investigators combed the scene.


A 35-year-old man driving a pickup truck was traveling the wrong way when he slammed head-on into a Ford Escape driven by a 24-year-old man, the patrol told 7News.


The pickup truck's driver, who authorities have yet to identify, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
