ANOTHER HEAD-ON COLLISION BETWEEN A PICKUP TRUCK AND AN SUV TAKES 4 LIVES IN WELD COUNTY COLORADO, WHEN THE TRUCK CAME ACROSS THE CENTER MEDIAN AND STRUCK THE SUV

WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Four people were killed and another was transported to a hospital with injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Weld County on Sunday night.

The accident involving a Dodge Ram pickup and a Honda Odyssey SUV happened about 9:45 p.m. and closed Highway 85 at Weld County Road 48 south of La Salle, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The male drivers of both vehicles and two juveniles in the Honda were killed. An adult female passenger in the Honda was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

State Patrol said the Ram was traveling southbound on Highway 85 and the Odyssey was going northbound when the Ram came across the center median and struck the driver’s side of the Honda.

The driver of the Ram was identified as Rogoberto Macias-Marquex, 44, of La Salle, and the driver of the Odyssey was ID’d as Gilbert Martinez, 37, of La Salle.

The investigation lasted until 2:30 a.m. when both roads were reopened.
