A PERSON WAS KILLED WHEN A VAN CAUGHT FIRE AND COLLIDED WITH AN 18-WHEELER TRACTOR TRAILER IN PA. LEHIGH VALLEY CORONER CALLED TO I-78 CRASH; TRAFFIC DETOURED TO RT 22.









WILLIAMS TWP., Pa. - At least one person was killed Friday morning in an accident involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 78 in Northampton County. The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-78 near mile marker 72 approaching Route 33 in Williams Township.




A van caught fire and hit an 18-wheeler, which also caught fire.




There's no word on what may have caused the crash. I-78 is closed between the state line and Lower Saucon Township. Traffic is being rerouted to Exit 3, Alpha/Phillipsburg onto Route 22. Traffic is backed up for several miles.
