FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department extinguished a house fire on South Harrison Street Monday night.

Firefighters were called to a two-story duplex at 2317 South Harrison Street at 9:46 p.m. and found smoke and flames coming from a second story window.

Fire crews went inside the house and extinguished the flames. It took crews 28 minutes to get everything under control, according to a department report.

Three people and three pets safely got out before firefighters arrived.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the family.

No injuries were reported.

A department report said the house sustained moderate fire, smoke and water damage.
The cause is under investigation.
