UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. — A fire ripped through an auto-repair business Tuesday and killed a family dog, according to Pleasant Hall Fire Chief Dale Myers.
Myers said firefighters saw a two-bay garage engulfed in flames when they arrived shortly after 11 a.m. to 10640 Upper Strasburg Road.
Crews initially tried to extinguish the fire from outside the 25-foot-by-75-foot structure, in part, because there were propane tanks and other flammables inside, Myers said.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, he said.

The Upper Strasburg Garage and three vehicles inside the business were destroyed.

"The property owner was checked out by the ambulance due to singes and burns around his face. He (was) released and is fine," Myers said.

A yellow Labrador retriever died in the fire, he said.
