A BOX TRUCK CARRYING OXYGEN TANKS FOR PATIENTS, TIPPED OVER WHEN IT SKIDDED ON ICY ROUTE 22 NEAR DUGWAY ROAD IN THE TOWN OF HILLSDALE, MASSACHUSETTS



HILLSDALE, MASS – A box truck carrying oxygen tanks for patients, tipped over when it skidded on icy Route 22 near Dugway Road in the Town of Hillsdale just after noon on Monday.

The driver of the vehicle, a 55-year-old Pittsfield, Massachusetts man, was not injured.  The truck is registered to T&C Flynn’s Pharmacy of Pittsfield, which makes home oxygen and pharmacy deliveries.

Columbia County Emergency Management and the Hazmat team were called to the scene because three 950-pound oxygen tanks were found to be leaking.

The accident remains under investigation.  The road was closed for 4 ½ hours
