FERRYSBURG, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was hospitalized in critical condition following a crash on the drawbridge between Grand Haven and Ferrysburg.

Deputies said 22-year-old Brian Jones, of Muskegon, lost control of his car on northbound US-31 around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The car rolled several times before coming to a stop just south of the Spring Lake exit.

Jones was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Mikayla Croft, 18, a passenger in the car, was also injured in the crash and is in stable condition.

Croft told deputies they were cut off by a truck. However witnesses said the car was speeding before the crash.

Two lanes of US-31 were closed for clean-up following the single car crash.
