Barrington, R.I. house fire draws mutual aid from two towns.  One fire hydrant near the home was not working.

BARRINGTON, R.I. A house fire at 152 Foote Street heavily damaged a single family house but no one was injured.



The Barrington fire department responded to the scene about 7 p.m. Tuesday.


Everyone was out of the house except for the family’s cat.  The fire was located in a bedroom in the basement although the cause remains under investigation.


Barrington called for mutual aid from East Providence and Seekonk. Warren provided coverage at the Barrington station.



There was a lot of smoke damage to the first floor. Three people were displaced, according to the fire department.  The fire marshal is handling the investigation.


The blaze was controlled in about 30 minutes.



The fire department reported that a water hydrant wasn’t working near the home.
