CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) – A New Year’s Eve dance in southeastern New Mexico has been postponed after a supply truck carrying the party’s alcohol crashed.

Lucy Yanez told the Carlsbad Current-Argus that the truck carrying the mixed-drink supplies had an accident on its way to Carlsbad from Albuquerque.

The fiesta was scheduled to take place New Year’s Eve at the Civic Center Annex in Carlsbad.

Party planner Rick Serrano says he was thinking of rescheduling the party anyway due to the bad weather, and the supply truck accident only confirmed the cancellation.

Serrano says the dance will have the same start time and bands, but the festivities have been rescheduled to Friday.
