SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. - A logging truck driver was run over and killed by his own truck Tuesday morning on a logging road east of Sedro-Woolley, the Washington State Patrol reports.

Trooper Mark Francis of the State Patrol says the deadly accident happened just before 6 a.m. north of Hamilton in Skagit County.

He said two logging trucks were making their way downhill when one of them pulled over and stopped. The driver, a 56-year-old Sequim man, got out to check on a problem with the truck when it rolled forward and struck him.

No one else was hurt in the accident. The logging road, which eventually turns into Medford Road, is closed during the investigation.
