CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- The incident happened just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday at Willow and Holland. Detectives say a group was walking across the intersection, when a truck drove past and hit the girl -- who is said to be 12 or 13 years old.
She was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in Downtown Fresno with minor to moderate injuries. The girl was pushing a stroller with a three-year-old inside who suffered minor injuries.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation. Police say the intersection is dimly lit.
"Pedestrians should always be extra safe. I don't know who's at fault at this point. The investigation will determine that. But you always gotta be on guard when you're out there," said Sgt. Vince Weibert, Clovis Police Department.
Officers shut down the nearby streets as they investigated, but the roads have since re-opened.
